Happy New Years Eve

Soaking Up 2013

I had a total Christmas Vacation "Mele-Kalikimaka" moment the other morning at breakfast. Staring out the window, I pictured a sunny summer day, Rob grilling while Grady plays with his water table. And me, with a death grip on a glass of wine, wearing jean shorts and a tank top. And for the record, I also had a tan.
Then I flashed back to the present, wearing five layers of clothes & eating bacon for breakfast while it is 4 degrees outside. Woof. I know, you totally saw this coming. Christmas is over, which means I am already looking forward to Spring. But this year, one of my New Year's resolutions is to take it easy this year & not wish away any of this precious time. To not rush around so much trying to get things done or make things happen. To make time to do more things on Grady's list than my own, more time to let him play & explore rather than just trying to squeeze it in between getting groceries & other obligations.

As a compulsive planner & list maker, I love New Years resolution time. I'm going to write mine, but this year, I'm going to make a point to wait until 2013 is over. We are going to soak up the last little bit of this amazing year, which most certainly includes finishing all the rest of the Christmas cookies.
Don't get me wrong, I am ready for change. A fresh start, a new planner & some party horn blowers! But for now, before we all decide that it's time to eat healthy, exercise more & get organized, I'm going to call it a day. Or a year, for that matter. ;)
Happy New Year's Eve!!

10 month ~ momma diaries

Our first morning together is still so fresh in my mind and yet it was a little over 10 months ago. How is that possible? I remember his smell, the way the blanket felt and just the staring at him in pure awe. The last 10 months have been an absolute whirlwind, an experience that is hard to put into words. He's my best friend and my biggest challenge every single day.

He is doing things everyday that amaze me.  I see a little bit of the "baby" Grady leaving everyday but it is so much fun now that he is a little person with a BIG personality. We can't wait to see what's next, but one thing is for sure you are certainly keeping us on our toes and teaching me more about myself that I never knew! You are molding into the best your dad and I can be and that's more than we could hope for :)

I love you my little mister, momma <3

Grady's First Halloween !

I don't even know if I can put words in this post that can express my excitement of Grady's First Halloween. I will start by saying, that I couldn't even sleep on Halloween Eve (of course) because I was so excited. We ended up having such a blast! I always imagined that Halloween would be so much more fun with kids, but I had no idea! :)

Of course he had to rock the most adorable Halloween outfit all day for our errands!

I hope you all had amazing Halloweens!! I love looking at all of the cute baby costumes out there, cannot wait for next year (we already have a costume idea in mind!) But most importantly... it is now officially the HOLIDAYS! I am so excited to take down our Halloween stuff today & replace Hocus Pocus with Christmas Vacation in the DVD player for the next two months.
'Tis the Season to be Merry

Holiday Mini Sessions

I am SO excited for my holiday minis this year! I have been having so much fun brainstorming and looking for cool new holiday themes & props for this year’s sessions! I will be doing something a little different and offering two types of minis: A family session at a location of your choice and also an outdoor mini at a tree farm!
Each will be half hour sessions and include 10-15 edited pictures on a cd.
Other dates can be requested.
What says “Ho-Ho-Ho” more than a tree farm?! Well, besides the big guy of course!

Mini sessions are perfect for the upcoming holidays! Gifts, holiday cards, or maybe just a little something for yourself to hang on your wall!

Refer a friend & receive a 20% discount on your session when that person books their own holiday portrait session :)

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time.
Space is limited! Contact me to book your holiday portraits today! bosworth_tracy@yahoo.com

It's just a Bunch of HOCUS POCUS

Happy Halloween, came across this and thought it was fun...enjoy :)

Ladies & Gentleman. Ghouls & Boys. It's time for a little Hocus Pocus Drinking game action!

"ANOTHER GLORIOUS DRINKING GAME"
The Hocus Pocus Drinking Game

What you will need for this game: an excessive amount of beer & a witch hat

Take One Drink Every Time:
  • Winifred calls for her "Boooooook"
  • Mary smells a child
  • Sarah says something stupid
  • Dani cries or whines about something
  • Billy Butcherson loses a limb
  • Thackary Binx loses a life
  • The witches fly on their brooms... or mops or vacuum cleaner

Additional Rules:
The entire group must all drink a full beer during the "I Put a Spell on You" performance.

Anytime someone in the group starts to chug their beer, everyone must chime in saying "amok! amok! amok!" Last one to catch on has to take a drink.

If anyone says Zachary Binx instead of Thackary Binx, they are automatically beer bitch for the entire game.

"Damn, Damn, Double Damn" is the only curse word allowed during the game. If anyone says anything else, you have to take a drink.

First person to spot the Christmas Vacation house that is in the background during one scene of the movie gets to give three drinks. (Mind blown? I know, mine was too. Read more here.)

Anytime someone misquotes a line in the movie, they have to wear the witch hat until it gets passed to the next person. When the movie is over, the last person wearing the witch hat has to shotgun a beer & finish by saying "Makes me Sick!"

If you are watching this movie on VHS, you are a badass, but you also must chug a beer while you rewind the movie at the end. :)

Hello Nostalgia

We all have those "moments" we are standing somewhere and it hits you like a wave, you have said to yourself, one day when we have children we are going to bring them here. Fast forward and it's that day, when your child is here in that spot running or playing and you have to take a breath and just absorb all that is. Let the wave crash over you.
That day happened to me when we brought Grady to the Cape for the first time. There is this beautiful spot me and my husband always stop, to look at the cove, the boats passing in and out with an open field to just sit, have lunch, whatever.

Hello nostalgia.
The smell of good food and salt water.
The feeling of sand clinging to your clothes.
The sound of the waves crashing in and out and children having fun.
Hello to the taste of seafood and Cape Cod beer.
To prize winning views and the hustle and bustle of tourists.
Hello to watching my own memories relived through my children’s eyes.
Man, do I ever love the way nostalgia feels.
Second (and third and fourth) chances to relive some of life’s favorite moments.
